Academic Programs
Middle School is a time of change, growth, and discovery. At GLOW, students in grades 6–8 are supported every step of the way in a nurturing community that fosters academic excellence, builds confidence, and introduces students to leadership opportunities, college pathways, and career exploration.
High School is a time for students to take ownership of their learning, discover their passions, and prepare for life beyond GLOW. In grades 9–12, our students are challenged academically, supported in developing strong leadership skills, and given hands-on opportunities to explore college, careers, and real-world experiences that set them up for success.
College Access
Our students get unmatched support as they navigate the path of what’s next after high school. From individualized counseling to hands-on experiences, we help every student explore all of their opportunities, recognize their passions and prepare for success beyond high school.
Extracurricular Activities
Sisterhood and learning extend beyond the classroom at GLOW. Our students can explore a wide range of extracurricular activities—from clubs and athletics to arts and leadership programs—designed to explore interests, build skills, and create lasting friendships.

College Access
For many GLOW students, the path to college is filled with real and significant obstacles. A large number will be the first in their families to attend college—and the first to achieve what is often seen as the greatest milestone: college graduation. At GLOW, we are deeply committed to getting students to college and through college.
Each student is supported by a dedicated, school-based, College Access counselor who works closely with her and her family—building college and career awareness, organizing campus visits, guiding the application process, securing financial aid, and supporting enrollment. From middle school through high school, we walk alongside every GLOW girl on her journey to higher education.
Whole Girl Education
GLOW Academy’s whole girl education approach nurtures, teaches, and empowers each student by honoring her full life experience—including her gender, race, culture, and community. We combine rigorous academics with strong social-emotional support, using intentional strategies that reflect the realities and resilience of girls growing up in the diverse communities of southeastern North Carolina. For over a decade, GLOW has blended research-based instruction with holistic practices that address the unique challenges girls face—fueling both their academic achievement and personal well-being.
