GLOW Academics

Middle School

At GLOW Academy, we believe middle school should nurture more than academics—it should develop the whole girl. In grades 6–8, our students discover their strengths, expand their thinking, and build confidence in an environment that celebrates who they are today while preparing them for who they’ll become.

Our whole girl approach blends challenging academics with social-emotional learning, leadership development, and real-world experiences. In our small classes, you’ll have the space to be heard, ask questions, and get the support you need to succeed. Together with your teachers and classmates, you’ll dive into hands-on projects, lively discussions, and problem-solving that connects to life beyond school. Outside of class, you’ll explore clubs and activities that spark your passions and strengthen your voice.

At GLOW, college and career readiness begins in middle school—through college tours, exploring future pathways, goal setting, and building the skills that will help you succeed long after graduation.

High School

At GLOW Academy, high school is more than a place to earn your diploma—it’s where you’re prepared, empowered, and supported to achieve your biggest dreams. Our small class sizes mean you’re not just a number. You’re known. You’ll get personalized attention from teachers who understand your strengths, challenge you to grow, and help you reach your goals.

What sets GLOW apart is our unmatched College Access program—support that no other tuition-free public school in our area offers. From your very first day of 9th grade, you’ll have a dedicated College Access Team guiding you through every step: building your academic profile, exploring career pathways, visiting campuses, preparing for entrance exams, and navigating applications and scholarships. By the time you graduate, you’ll have the tools, confidence, and connections to succeed at the college of your choice.

And at the heart of it all? Sisterhood. Here, you’ll find a community of young women who cheer for you, challenge you, and stand beside you every step of the way. Together, we celebrate victories, learn from challenges, and lift each other higher.

At GLOW, you’ll leave high school ready for college, career, and life—with a network of sisters and mentors who believe in you long after you’ve walked across the graduation stage.

Leadership Advisory

At GLOW Academy, leadership isn’t reserved for the future—it’s practiced every day. Our Leadership Advisory program gives every student a dedicated space to build strong relationships, develop essential life skills, and grow as a leader both in and out of the classroom. It is 40 minutes of the day that sets GLOW apart.

In small advisory groups, led by a trusted teacher, students explore topics like goal setting, self-advocacy, teamwork, time management, and community engagement. It’s a place to connect, ask questions, and get the guidance you need—whether you’re navigating a challenge, celebrating a win, or planning your next big step.

Advisory is also where the GLOW sisterhood shines. Together, students support one another, share ideas, and take on projects that strengthen our school community. Through service opportunities, leadership roles, and real-world problem-solving, you’ll learn to lead with confidence and compassion.

By the time you graduate, your Leadership Advisory experience will have equipped you with the skills, relationships, and mindset to lead in college, career, and life.

College Access

There are countless reasons why continuing education after high school is a smart choice. Whether it’s attending a large public university, a small private college, a community college, or a trade school, each path offers unique benefits and opportunities:

  • Boost Your Earning Potential: College graduates, on average, earn significantly more over their lifetimes than those without a degree.
  • Job Security: Workers with a college degree are less likely to face unemployment, offering greater career stability.
  • Health and Happiness: A college degree often leads to healthier lifestyles and greater overall life satisfaction.
  • Build a Better Future: Higher education can open the door to homeownership, financial stability, and providing a comfortable life for your family.
  • Expand Your Horizons: College is a chance to form meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds, broadening your perspectives and building lifelong relationships.
  • Ignite Your Passions: It’s a time to explore your creativity, curiosity, and discover what truly excites and motivates you.
  • Unlock Your Potential: You have incredible potential—college can help you not just meet it, but exceed it!

No matter the path, investing in your education is an investment in yourself and your future.

Academically Gifted

At GLOW Academy, we are committed to ensuring that extraordinary academic and intellectual talent is both recognized and nurtured. Supporting gifted and high-potential students is a shared responsibility — one that involves our teachers, the AIG Committee, and the broader GLOW community. Together, we work to connect students with meaningful enrichment opportunities that elevate and expand her whole-girl educational experience.

GLOW Academy’s AIG Program serves our Middle School students and reflects the values and vision of our school community. Our approach is designed to be:

Multicategorical — recognizing that giftedness emerges across a wide range of subjects, skills, and domains.

Inclusive — embracing students with diverse strengths and abilities, including those who are gifted, high potential, high ability, and twice exceptional; we honor the truth that exceptional talent exists in every demographic and social group.

Multicultural — respecting and acknowledging the diverse cultural values, beliefs, attitudes, and customs represented within our school community.

Research-based — grounding our practices in well-established research and proven theories to ensure our program remains rigorous, relevant, and responsive.
